Since 1954, the Association for Facilities Engineering (AFE), has provided its members with the resources they need to meet the challenges of facilities engineering.  AFE is the largest and oldest organization devoted exclusively to facilities engineering professionals in manufacturing, health services, education, government and many other institutions.

With more than 9,000 members and 136 active chapters nationwide, AFE is the premier network for the exchange of facilities engineering and management information, delivering to its members an invaluable professional edge. AFE administers certification programs for the professional designations of CPE (certified plant engineer) and CFEP (certified facilities environmental professional), publishes the Facilities Engineering Journal and hosts FACILITIES AMERICA, an annual conference that features dozens of speakers on cutting-edge topics and valuable information that benefits facilities engineers and their employers.

AFE Charleston Chapter No. 186 serves Plant and Facilities Engineering professionals throughout the Low Country of South Carolina.  Chapter meetings, featuring plant tours and guest speakers, are held on the third Tuesday of each month.   Chapter News is available below.
